The Faculty of Veterinary Hygiene and Ecology carries out creative activities from its own resources, as well as grants from grant agencies (especially the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports; Grant Agencies of the Czech Republic; National Agricultural Research Agencies, Health Research Agencies of the Czech Republic (formerly Internal Grant Agency of the Ministry of Health; Ministry of Interior and the Technology Agency of the Czech Republic) and also from the funds of contract research with contracting organizations, institutions and companies.
The main directions are food chemistry, food microbiology and hygiene and technology of milk and dairy products, meat and meat products, as well as food analysis, evaluation of food structure and quality of food of plant origin. Research is also focused on the adulteration of food, raw materials and dishes of animal and plant origin.
